Mama Noor’s Beef Curry

We can’t get enough of this amazing curry!


  1. Chop onions and potatoes. Leave potatoes in a bowl of cold water to keep from browning.

  2. Pour 1/2 cup of oil and chopped onions into a large pot over medium heat.

  3. Once onions start to cook, add bay leaves, cinnamon, and cardamom. Continue stirring until golden. Let mixture simmer approximately 4 minutes.

  4. Add the garlic paste, ginger paste, and onion paste. Stir and let cook for a few minutes.

  5. Add all remaining spices and 1/2 cup of water to the pot.

  6. Stir and cook curry until it starts to thicken.

  7. Add beef one by one to avoid spillage.

  8. Cook for 3-5 minutes. Add potatoes and 1/2 cup of water.

  9. Continue to stir and cook the curry for 7-10 minutes.

  10. The curry is done when the potatoes are soft and the beef is cooked through.

  11. Serve with basmati rice or preferred side and enjoy!
